NEW PROSTATE CANCER TREATMENT.

A new non-invasive form of treatment for prostate cancer was recently approved for treatment in Canada. Called Ablatherm HIFU, the treatment has been successfully used in Europe for many years. Based on sophisticated ultrasound technology, it has a substantially lower risk of side effects. A study published in the Journal of Urology in February, 2004 showed that five years after treatment 93 perecnt of patients had negative biopsies.
